I had the honour of sitting in on the School of Ministry's Bible School class yesterday. Kris Vallotton from Bethel Church in Redding is teaching there this week.
There were so many gooooooood things that he was speaking, but one thing has been sticking with me for the last 24 hours. This is me processing it...forgive me if I haven't quite got my head around it... :)
When a word is prophesied, spoken out, the angels are released on assignment for that word. The demons also heard that word and will do everything they can to stop it being fulfilled. However, we have an army of angels to stand with us on this mission. God said that his word shall not return to him void. So I am here, this morning, being reminded of the things that God has spoken over me, promised me and the things that he has invited me to do. The truth is, that I have, we have, angels with us, making that happen. We also have opposition. but our opposition is no match for who is with us. If God is for us who can be against us??
Also, we are seated in heavenly places. We need to take our seats....!! When we remain seated here on earth (1st heaven) we are beneath the second heaven. The 2nd heaven is where the demonic activity happens and so therefore we a subject to that activity, we are part of a sub-culture. However, because of Jesus' death and resurrection, we are seated in Him, in heavenly places. We ARE seated there now. We are seated in the 3rd heaven...above the 2nd heaven. In the 3rd heaven, miracles are the 'laws of nature'. THAT IS WHERE WE ARE. we are not UNDER the 2nd heaven, but ABOVE it. SO... therefore, here on earth, BECAUSE we are seated in heavenly places, we are part of a COUNTER-culture.
What does the culture of heaven look like?
Peter and Heather Jackson taught me that Honour is the language of heaven. God told me once that Intimacy is the culture of heaven.
What does it look like? What does 'Your kingdom come, your will be done, ON EARTH as it IS in heaven' look like?
WE ARE PART OF A COUNTER-CULTURE, NOT A SUB-CULTURE.
We have angles sent on assignment, specifically. (how many of us are on man's mission, and expect the legions of Angels to back us up, and then are surprised/shocked/feel abandoned when they are not there?!)
